Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 lbs ground beef
  • 1/3 cup chopped onions
  • 1.5 cups dry bread crumbs
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • olive oil
  • 6 cups beef stock
  • 8 Tbsp flour
  • 1.5 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 bay leaves

Instructions
 

  • To make the meatballs, mix the beef, onions, bread crumbs, eggs, salt, sugar, pepper together. Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls. Brown in olive oil
  • Remove meatballs from pan. Save drippings for gravy
  • To make gravy, blend flour into the pan with the leftover drippings on low heat.
  • Slowly stir in stock and bring to a boil, stirring often.
  • After gravy comes to a boil, stir in lemon juice and bay leaves.
  • Put meatballs back into the gravy and cook slowly for 1 hour.
  • Serve over egg noodles
