Ingredients
  

  • 3 pounds short ribs
  • flour
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp ketchup
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp thyme

Method
 

  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil.
  2. Dredge ribs in flour
  3. Brown in oil until well browned
  4. Place in a casserole dish
  5. In a small bowl, mix onion, ketchup, salt, pepper and thyme. Pour over ribs
  6. Bake covered at 300° for 1.5 hours.
  7. Remove ribs to a platter, put pan juices/sauce in a small saucepan, bring to a boil.
  8. Mix 1 Tbsp of cornstarch and 1 Tbsp water together. Add to pan juices to thicken
  9. Serve ribs with gravy
