Chicken in Wine and Mushroom Sauce

Ingredients
  

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 lb sliced mushrooms
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup green onion, chopped (optional)

Method
 

  1. Saute chicken breasts in butter until golden brown and almost cooked through.
  2. Remove chicken breasts and set aside. Add mushrooms to the pan and cook until browned.
  3. Add cream of mushroom soup, wine, garlic powder and water. Mix thoroughly.
  4. Add chicken back into pan. Bring to a boil for 2 minutes and reduce heat and simmer until mushrooms are tender and chicken is cooked through.
  5. Garnish with green onion if desired.
  6. Serve over rice or pasta or with potatoes.
